SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS

Below are application instructions for the Helpmann Academy and Inlaks Foundation scholarships. If you are applying for either scholarship, please be sure to following the instructions closely during your application process.

Helpmann Academy Application Instructions

For applicants that are Australian citizens who are based in South Australia, and are final year students or graduates (up to five years following final year of study) from Helpmann Academy partner institutions, your application fee, tuition, and travel expenses will be subsidized by the Helpmann Academy.

Steps on applying for Scholarship or Tuition below. In order to be considered for the 2023 Skowhegan Session you must have completed your application Steps 1-6 and have emailed Skowhegan by 12:00 p.m. EST on January 4, 2023 | 3:30 a.m. ACDT on January 5, 2023.

Please note that this deadline is actually 1 day before the general application deadline!  Applications with HELPMANN support will not be accepted after this date for any reason.

    • Follow the directions on how to create an application on the application website.

    • Complete Steps 1-4 of the application in its entirety.

    • At Step 5: Select "Yes"— that you require financial aid.

    • For Amount of financial assistance requested: Enter "5999"

    • For Are you a U.S. Resident?: Select “NO” and Enter "Australia" in the corresponding field.

    • Leave everything Step A blank, and go to Section B.

  • For INCOME

    • In Total Income: Enter the number “0”

    • In Employer: Type “N/A”

    • In Actual: Enter the number "0"

    • In Estimated: Enter the number "0"

    • In Additional Notes: Type “HELPMANN”

  • For NAMED FELLOWSHIPS

    • Check the box: Oceanic Heritage

    • Check the box: Are you a current resident of Australia?

    • In the corresponding blank field: Write in that you “qualify for Helpmann Academy support.”

    • Follow the directions on Step 6 of the application.

    • Email help@skowheganart.org with the subject line "HELPMANN Support"

    • Use this email to state that you qualify for support from the Helpmann Academy.

    • Once you have completed Step 7 of the application, Skowhegan will push your application past the paywall and submit it on your behalf.

    • Once your application is submitted by Skowhegan, you will receive an email with a unique application number confirming that your application was successfully received.

    • You will receive this email within 24 hours after you email Skowhegan.

    • If you do not receive a confirmation email please email help@skowheganart.org or call 1 646 681 6426.

Inlaks Foundation Application
Instructions

For those applicants that live and work in India and are under 35 years of age your application fee, tuition, and travel expenses will be subsidized by the Inlaks foundation.

If you qualify for Inlaks support then you may skip the application fee found at step 7 of the Skowhegan application following the following instructions:

Steps on applying for Scholarship or Tuition below. In order to be considered for the 2023 Skowhegan Session you must have completed your application Steps 1-6 and have emailed Skowhegan by 12:00 p.m. EST (10:30PM IST) on January 4, 2023.

Please note that this deadline is actually 1 day before the general application deadline!

Applications with INLAKS support will not be accepted after this date for any reason.

    • Follow the directions on how to create an application on the application website.

    • Complete Steps 1-4 in their entirety

    • At Step 5 select "yes" — that you require financial aid.

    • In the field that asks “Amount of financial assistance requested," enter "5999" (Don't worry, you will receive more than this amount because Inlaks will fully fund your other expenses).

    • For the question: “Are you a U.S. Resident?” select “NO” and enter "India" in the corresponding field.

    • Leave everything else in Step A blank and go to Section B

    • Type in the number “0” in the "Total 2021 Income" field

    • Type “N/A” in the "Employer" field

    • Enter the number "0" in the "2020 Actual" field and "0" in the "2021 Estimated" field

    • In the following “Additional Notes” field type “INLAKS”

    • Check the box next to “Asian / Pacific / Southeast Asian Heritage and then check the box that says “ Are you a current resident of India?” .

    • Write in that you “live and work in India” in the corresponding blank field

  • Complete Steps 6

    • Simply email help@skowheganart.org with the subject line "Inlaks Support".

    • Use this email to state that you qualify for Inlaks support by providing your current age and your physical address in India.

    • Skowhegan will then push your application past the paywall and submit it on your behalf.

    • Once your application is submitted by Skowhegan you will receive an email from with a unique application number confirming that your application was successfully received.
