Jeff Prokash is an alumni of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture class of 2015. Upon returning home after his time at the residency, Jeff learned that during his absence, his younger brother, Tim, had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The cancer is malignant and fast spreading and Tim is currently undergoing chemotherapy with the potential for experimental treatment.
The Skowhegan philosophy is one of community and for many participants the relationships forged at the residency are equally as strong as those of blood relation. To the class of 2015, Jeff is considered a brother and by extension, his siblings are family as well.
The artwork available on the site is created by participants, staff, and faculty members of the class of 2015. All of the work is priced at $300.00USD and is available on a first come first serve basis with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Prokash family and Tim’s treatment.
