Daniel Seiple (‘00) Organized Excursions Monograph published by DISTANZ Berlin
The work of Daniel Seiple (*1973, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; lives in Berlin) emerges in the interdisciplinary space of art and social practice. Employing an array of media including woodpiles, moving vans, weekend hobbies and plumbing, Seiple coaxes meaningful experiences out of mundane activities, friendly confrontations and concocted group activity. He is a founding member of the artist collective E-Team, creator of the residential exhibition space Homie, and co-founder of the group KUNSTrePUBLIK, which created Skulpturenpark Berlin_Zentrum and other public art initiatives.
The artist’s first monograph presents a roadmap for engaging public spaces, communities and personal histories with individual wit and earnestness. Organized Excursions documents Seiple’s individual and collaborative projects, which are complemented and examined with essays from esteemed authors Matt Saunders, Jennifer Allen, Paul O’Neill and Laura Schleussner.
