SCHOLARSHIPS
Among the many things that make Skowhegan special is our pledge to ensure that
any artist who is accepted to the program on the basis of his or her work is able to attend—regardless of financial ability. Over 90% of Skowhegan participants require and receive financial aid—in the past five years alone well over $1 million in scholarship support has been granted. This is possible through the great generosity of many friends of the School who make gifts to support the scholarship program—you allow us to keep our pledge to artists that financial need will not prevent them from attending Skowhegan.
ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS:
A gift of $5,500 provides a full scholarship for one artist to attend Skowhegan. Those who give at this level receive a report at the end of the summer letting them know which artist received the scholarship and describing the experience the artist had on campus. (If the gift is split between two artists who need partial scholarships, the donor will receive a report on both artists.)
Gifts for partial scholarships are also welcomed--$2,750 provides one 1/2 scholarship; $1,375 provides one 1/4 scholarship. Gifts at these levels are also acknowledged with a report on the artist who receives the scholarship.

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS:

FACILITIES
Skowhegan's campus is comprised of some 50 buildings including studios, workshops, student, faculty, and staff housing, and more. (To see some of our facilities, take our campus tour (by clicking
here). Each year we work to maintain and improve these buildings to create the best working environment possible for the artists who come to the School. This includes renovating studios to make them more user-friendly, modifying dorms to provide access to those with physical disabilities, and purchasing equipment to ensure the safety of all artists who come to Skowhegan.
This maintenance and improvement constitutes a significant portion of Skowhegan's annual budget, and every gift toward facilities makes a difference. If you would like to make a gift toward facilities, please click

Many longtime friends of Skowhegan have given gifts to the School's endowment to provide permanent upkeep of buildings on campus. Skowhegan has been proud to name buildings for many donors in acknowledgment of major gifts. ENDOWMENT
Contributions to Skowhegan's endowment are among the most important gifts we receive each year. They not only make the School stronger today, but help to ensure that strength permanently.
Gifts to the general endowment give Skowhegan the flexibility to determine changing needs through time, and to meet them through the income generated from the endowment. Gifts at or above certain levels allow donors to support a specific purpose—three common areas are Endowed Scholarships, Endowed Faculty Chairs, and the Capital Endowment for buildings. Each of these provides an opportunity for a donor to name a scholarship, faculty position or campus building to establish a legacy for their generosity and to set an example for others to give at a similar level.
