After leaving Skowhegan, I gave up making fine art for almost 17 years, returning to stocking vending machines and printing t-shirts and doing art and prep for t shirt making. I worked at a high end shop that did work for MTV and Nickaleodon and various record labels (A&M) and they were one of the first companies to use a computer to produce seps for the printing. I was low man on the totempole in the art dept. there so I would stay afterwork and mess around on the Macs. We moved to Corpus Christi, where we live now and I worked at another tshirt shop until I got the gumption to apply as an artist for an ad agency. My slide portfolio of my fine art got the job for me and the bosses bragged that they made money off me the first day. I designed a $1000 logo which they paid me $64. After many years I have resumed making fine art and have won numerous awards and have been in as many shows and private collections.
